Helleborus orientalis

Also called Lenten Rose. I have a previous post of hellebores, but these are looking so beautiful, I'm doing another one.

They are very popular right now in the plant nurseries, you can see why.

These leaves are drooping significantly as the flowers rise. I read that it might be environmental stress or just old foliage naturally dying back. (That's the kind of drama we gardeners have to deal with.)

Just beautiful.
Just beautiful.
I have two planted in the ground, but I enjoy them more as a patio plant.

I put this container here to try to stop my cats from using my house as a scratching post. All those trees a few yards from the house are not as convenient as this corner.

I just want to show off this Amaryllis that I got as a Christmas gift from my niece. It came in the mail, already planted in this pot as a bulb. Unbox, water, and presto!, this is what you get two months later.

It's a lovely, cheerful hello with my morning coffee.
